DOGS
The rapid test for detection of ehrlichia canis antibodies in dogs
TEST INSTRUCTION
Further information
Ehrlichiosis is a disease caused by rickettssia (gram-negative, intracellular bacteria), which is transmitted by the brown dog tick. The Ehrlichiosis pathogen is common in North America and the Mediterranean region in particular but it is also spreading in Europe.
If a dog is infected, the development of the disease can be divided into three stages. First an acute phase (e.g. with fever, vomiting, swelling of the lymph nodes), then a subclinical phase without symptoms and finally a chronical phase (bleeding, anaemia etc. may occur) can be detected.
The Fassisi EhrCanis rapid test helps you to detect an infection with Ehrlichia canis fast. Especially after a stay in an epidemic area an animal should be tested. Infected animals develop antibodies already after the seventh day after infection, which can be detected easily and quickly using the Fassisi EhrCanis test. This allows you to react quickly if there are existing infections and to initiate appropriate therapy steps if necessary.
